How i really got to know KPOP before i really fell into the hole

A summarized story because I'm lazy xD.

Back then, I was just a typical guy you would expect to know from all walks of life. I am not that unique or a person who stands out among a crowd. I clearly had not much stuff to look forward to on my free time. I would just laze around or maybe watch anime. Anime was there for me to just kill time and not because I was avid into it ( I wasn't a weeb or otaku to begin with ). Not forgetting, I also watched more than 100 episodes of running man just to kill time. ( this is where i only knew the surface of Korea like SNSD, APink , Big Bang, etc )

My school life was not really that interesting ( secondary school ). I don't really have a particular personality so mixing around with people wasn't really a hassle between both sides. I have a handful close friends who sincerely treats me well. I was selfish back then because I did not want to be treated like that but I learn to appreciate them. I learn a lot from them ( and maybe influenced ) especially interactions. Because of them, I got to expand my social boundaries among the school. From there, I don't really mind travelling to Punggol, Sengkang and Hougang just to meet my homies. It's quite ironic as initially I did not intent to be socially active. Well look at me now.

Since now I get to know more people, I got along really close with a guy. He's very outspoken and active on the outside but inside, he's has a cool vibe and nice at heart. I decided to be close with him because why not. He's really updated on the KPOP latest happenings and trends. He familiar with multiple groups like APink, EXID and Big Bang. He urge me to listen to them so I gave it a shot. I'm very particular and sensitive to groups who follows sexy concepts like EXID eventhough their songs feels pretty good to listen. From here, I only knew their popular hits and nothing more. I tried to at least know their names but I had difficulty ( this applies to APink too ).

Moving on, it was during a random night ( it was after o levels period ), I stumble upon a video from the Fine Brothers Entertainment where survey youtubers to react to popular KPOP videos at that time ( it was during March/April ). That was the time I knew TWICE because their debut song features zombie and I personally like zombies. I have no idea what got me curious that time but I went to research them ( maybe its fate ). To my surprise, I actually could not believe that I am actually older than two of the members from TWICE. That got me intrigued and it made me hungry for more details. However, to only know that they had just debuted, there is nothing much to know about them ( I was not a koreaboo at that time too ). I never went back to search about them ever since then ( I could only remember Momo and Tzuyu at that time ).

So to conclude this, before I really fell into the hole, I had some exposure to Korean idols from influences and videos that I stumble upon.
